I drove up to Malibu on Saturday to try out my new toy…a 10 stop neutral density filter. For those of you who have no idea what that is (I didn’t even know until a week or so ago!)…it’s a piece of glass that goes over your lens that cuts the light coming in so that you can leave your shutter open longer or have a larger aperture. It’s like sunglasses for your lens. It has a cool effect of making the water look whispy. Unfortunately it’s “June Gloom” here in Los Angeles so I didn’t get any cool clouds or a pretty sunset (and El Matador Beach was covered in seaweed). But I sort of like the dark and moody look to these though. I had fun playing with my new filter and I think I got some cool shots.

Friday, June 25th, 2010I had the pleasure of meeting Natasha last Saturday for a shoot around Santa Monica. She’s in the same Burlesque class as my old roommate, Melissa. We had a fun time, here are some of my favorite shots.
